Detours

Diversion

Remember those “build your own adventure” books that used to have you jumping around pages depending on which story options you chose?  You’d get introduced to the story and then have to decide what happens next.  A typical scenario would go something like this:

If you decide to start back home, turn to page 4.
If you decide to wait, turn to page 5.

My latest road trip around the Interwebs was like that.  I ended up on the most wonderful detours.  I started with The Minimalist who had a link to Blogs With Bite.  After perusing several BWB lists, I clicked on a link to Times Online list of 50 of the World’s Best Food Blogs.  Each entry on the list presented me with an opportunity to go in a new and different direction, to discover a new adventure.

Some highlights of my detours include Delicious Days, mattbites.com (I don’t know what his recipes taste like but the photos will make you drool like Pavlov’s dog…for real), and Not Without Salt (I can’t help but love a site with a video of how to make butter in a mason jar).

Check out the list to build your own adventure and whether you choose to “start back home” or “decide to wait”, I guarantee that you will find something to enjoy on the journey.
