Where to Go? What to Do?

15 Jan

SFC called this morning. Always a good way to start a Tuesday (or any day). We got to talking about his upcoming visit home. And for once, I have absolutely no master plan.

He prefers not to fly anywhere. Can’t say as I blame him what with the trip home taking something like an entire day. So that leaves us with the car.

Where can we go that’s within a few hours drive from Exit 51? We’ve made several trips to NYC, visited Western Maryland/West Virginia last deployment, and early March is too durn cold for the beach.

Head south to the sun! I’d say do a few days in Mexico in an all inclusive resort. Of course your main man may be sick of the sun and warmth. Of course you could always head north and do Toronto or Montreal. Or, you can take your phones off the hook, Lock the doors, turn off the TV, draw the window coverings, light the candles and just hold up in the bedroom for a week! Whatever you do, enjoy!

Ooh, fun — I would opt for holing up at a B&B in St. Michael’s. It’s down the shore (hon) but it is not exactly beachy. Good restaurants down that way, too.

Wait a minute. I’m still thinking.

Wow, that is just a little creepy from Aunt Pam. No offense AP, but people your age talking about “romance” is pretty gross to me.

Anyway, my suggestions are Boston, Ocean City, or the Outer Banks. I hope to visit all those places while TDY at Aberdeen. I will surely be contacting you when I arrive.

    Take Care,
    Matt (2LT now)
